    Get to know Wayfarer Gin

When someone quits their job, takes out a loan and dares to make a completely new start, great things can come out of it. That's what happened to Benedikt Brauers from Frechen near Cologne. He quit his job as a management consultant and turned to his passion for gin. After experimenting with discount spirits in his early 20s, he eventually became passionate about gin as a more mature person. He now produces the Wayfarer Gin Destination Provence in his own distillery.

This was anything but a " crazy idea ", because the Wayfarer is certainly impressive. After all, you can taste the savoir-vivre, the landscape and the vegetation of southern France. Above all: the lavender. Because that was what particularly impressed Benedikt Brauers. It was immediately clear: lavender had to be in the gin. And when naming the new product, it quickly became clear that the travel destination Provence had to find its way into the name.

    At a glance

The bottle is crystal clear and slightly trapezoidal. The name "Wayfarer" is only hinted at by the letters in a different order. If you want to read the whole name, you have to turn the bottle. Because only the letters W, A and Y are written on the front. The rest can be read on the back of the bottle. A blue label hangs around the neck of the bottle, telling the story of this gin. About the vacation in the South of France, the impressions and how the idea came about. The label is not the same on every bottle. Every single day of the vacation is told on different neck labels. In fact, it is a whole vacation album that you complete with every bottle.
When you pour the wine, citrus scents fill your nose. But then they're there right after: the blooming lavender fields of southern France. They put you in the holiday mood just by nosing.
The aromas continue in the mouth. The herbs are immediately present, as if they had just come from the market into the bottle. The alcohol content of 44.2% vol. gives the gin no sharpness and gives the botanicals the right kick. The juniper is also clearly in the foreground and gives the Wayfarer a creamy and long-lasting finish.

    Our conclusion:

    • The Wayfarer Gin Destination Provence is a tribute to the South of France, summarized in one distillate.

    • The term “ Wayfarer ” comes from late medieval England and means something like “ traveler ” or “ wanderer ”. And that is exactly what this gin brings to the glass: the gin lover immerses himself in the Provencal landscape and wants to experience Provence as a hiker.

    • The Wayfarer impresses with its fine lavender aromas and mild taste.
