The Marqués de Riscal Viñas Viejas is a fruity, fresh rosé from Marqués de Riscal, which is a vibrant, light pink with a hint of orange. It is a cuvée made from over 80-year-old freestanding Garnacha and Tempranillo vines. The Tempranillo portion brings out the fruity strawberry and raspberry aromas. The Garnacha grapes, on the other hand, provide the fine and structured acidity. The result is a wine with a silky and soft mouthfeel and a long finish. Only the highest quality berries go into the mash, which is why the grapes are picked by hand with the utmost care and selected in the vineyard. The wine is left to ripen briefly on the fine yeast of a Sauvignon Blanc, which makes it a very special rosé with extraordinary complexity and powerful aromas. The winery in the Spanish region of Castilla y León proves that the classic red wine grape varieties Tempranillo and Garnacha can also be processed excellently into rosé. The grapes of the over 80-year-old grape varieties thrive on high gravel terraces along the Duero.
