Exceptional red wine in a fine wooden box: A Brunello from Biondi-Santi is exceptionally good even in "normal" years. So what can you expect from an exceptional vintage like 2016? Exactly that: the pure elegance and full power of the Sangiovese grape. After meticulous hand-picking and a long mash fermentation, the Brunello di Montalcino matures for 36 months in barrels made of Slavonian oak. During this time it develops its wonderful balance and complex aromas. The ruby red color is followed by ripe cherries and forest fruits on the nose. There are also notes of violets and wet leaves. The soft tannin structures the wine on the palate, where it ends with a fabulous length. Overall, the 2016 vintage is a bit more harmonious than its predecessor. This wine definitely has enormous storage potential. In the elegant wooden box it is an extremely valuable piece of jewelry that adorns every wine cellar.
