Elegant red wine from Sancerre The Château de Sancerre bears the name of one of the best appellations for Sauvignon Blanc. The winery shows with its wonderful Château de Sancerre Rouge that the AOP Sancerre does not only produce legendary white wines. The red wine is made from Pinot Noir. The vines grow in a hilly landscape directly on the Loire on four different types of soil. In addition to the ideal conditions, Château de Sancerre also offers natural viticulture with certification. The dry Château de Sancerre Rouge beguiles the nose and palate with rich aromas of red fruits and fine spicy notes of black pepper and liquorice. This red wine glides over the tongue with plenty of power and a good tannin structure before an acidic finish leads to the finale. In order to meet the high quality standards of the Château de Sancerre, the Pinot Noir grapes are picked by hand and then hand-selected again after the harvest. The cellar master then macerates the mash at cool temperatures to extract fresh fruit. The careful processing is worth it, because the result is a powerful, elegant red wine from the Loire that no wine shelf should be without.
